House of Toptanasve, is a monument of culture of first category, announced by the
Rector of State University, Decision No. 6 dated 01.15.1963.
The house is categorized as private building and belongs to Albanian culture of
Renaissance period 1831-1912.
House of Toptanasve is an architectural complex of walls, courtyards, wells, roads,
big gates, buildings and other facilities. Surrounded by high massive walls of stone,
this complex creates a fortification, taking the appearance of a small castle. These
buildings, characteristic of the feudal period, are spread from the second half of the
nineteenth century in the region of Tirana.
Two storey dwelling, built by craftsmen from Dibra, is situated on a flat plot oriented
south-east. The house represents interests according to the construction
perspective, like composing functional, architectural and decorative treatment, as
well as its connectivity in a single ensemble with surrounding buildings.
