In the
British period the lawcourts were housed in the palace built in the
18th century as the residence of the Catholic Archbishop. The
present building, which probably dates from between the two World
Wars, is on the coast road, near the harbour. It is in a severe
Classical style that gives expression to its official character.
The entrance is in the projecting central section, and there is an
Ionic portico on the first floor above
