Building with an L-shaped plan. At the end of one
of the legs, which is set parallel with the fortification wall, is
the gate of the same name, which leads to the town harbour. The
present form of the building is the product of radical modification
and additions, made both in the British period and later. The
building had already been abandoned and fallen into ruins at the
end of the Venetian period. The ground floor now houses municipal
services, shops, etc., while the upper floors have been converted
into residential accommodation.
