Objective and subjective assessment of low frequency sound insulation in dwellings Project – Professor Carl Hopkins and Professor Pyoung-Jik Lee visit

At the beginning of April, Professor Carl Hopkins and his colleague Professor Pyoung-Jik Lee will visit the acoustics laboratory of CNR-ITC Istituto per le Tecnologie della Costruzione.
This visit is in the framework of the project “Objective and subjective assessment of low frequency sound insulation in dwellings” funded by the Royal Society of London.
This research will increase our understanding of low-frequency sound fields in rooms with the aim of improving protocols for sound insulation measurements in dwellings. The collaboration between the acoustics laboratory team of ITC and the Acoustics Research Unit ARU of University of Liverpool UoL will provide the researchers access to different experimental facilities at CNR and Liverpool and builds upon complementary expertise relating to measurement uncertainty and building acoustics at CNR and Liverpool.
Under the guidance of director, Professor Massimo Clemente, CNR-ITC is, and will continue to be committed in the coming years, to participating in national and international projects on building acoustics, with its researchers, in particular Chiara Scrosati, head of the ITC acoustics laboratory.
