Interventions on the built environment, while taking into account legal, environmental and economic factors, with particular reference to different users, requires the access to a proper amount and quality of information; guidelines for decision making and techniques for the simulation of the intervention and for the expectation of the environmental impacts of buildings, in order to improve safety and quality of residential and non residential areas and its related structures. The growing complexity of the design process requires the adoption of support IT technologies and methodologies (notably those which are open source). Within this line of research we develop procedures and methodologies for architectural survey, degradation diagnosis and digital models creation for the planning of restoration interventions; the implementation of websites, virtual tours, municipal information systems, with the aim of disclosing knowledge and enhancing historic, architectural and natural wealth sites.
